All of our systems are tied together on a single high-bandwidth network which is itself attached to the rest of Brown University and from there the rest of the world. The main file servers and at least one central hub in each building are all connected on a Gigabit ethernet ring. Most new workstations use 100Mb ethernet and the older systems and terminals are connected with the old 10Mb ethernet. Some server systems are also attached to an ATM cloud.
