COMPARISON BETWEEN THEORY AND EXPERIMENTS IN TURBULENT PIPE FLOWS
This page contains the recent results of my theory, as it is applied to turbulent
shear flows, and in particular the predictions of the theory for duct flows (i.e.
internal flows in a cylindrical geometry of arbitrary cross-section with a well
defined mean direction of motion).
The following images show the comparison between the theory presented in Phys.
Fluids 10 (6) (see my
`Journal Publications' page for details) and data collected
from various sources, as indicated below. The agreement is quite good for three
orders of magnitude in the Reynolds number.
