Academic background
I received my B.Sc. in Mathematics from Peking University in
Beijing, China in 1986. In 1989, I received my M.S. degree in
Applied Mathematics from the Computing Center, Chinese Academy of
Sciences, Beijing. I came to the United States in 1993 as a
graduate student in Department
of Mathematics at University of Pittsburgh, where I received
my M.S degree in Mathematics in 1995. I came to Brown University
in August 1995 as a Ph.D. student.
My advisor is
Professor Chi-Wang Shu , I received the Ph.D. degree in applied
mathematics in May 1999 with dissertation
Numerical Methods for Hyperbolic
Equations on Unstructured Meshes (the abstract is
here ).
