Academic background

I received a B.M.E. from the University of Delaware (College of Engineering), (Department of Mechanical Engineering) in May 1985. Subsequently I worked for Hercules Aerospace in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 years and then I returned to my studies to receive a Master's from the University of Nebraska, Mechanical Engineering Department in 1989. I embarked on a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics at Brown University under the supervision of Lawrence Sirovich. I received an ScM. from Brown in Applied Mathematics (1991). I completed my Ph.D. studies in October of 1995.
