The Cave

The "Cave" is a 8' cube at Brown University's Technology Center for Advanced Scientific Computing and Visualization (TCASCV) wherein the floor and three walls are projected to provide a virtual environment. Special glasses allow 3D stereo depth-perception, and a variety of tracking devices allow software to track the position of a user's hand, head, wand, etc. The Cave also allows sound-based interaction.

The IBM SP Cluster:

We have several different SP nodes: power2 thin nodes, 4-cpu PowerPC 604e ("Silver") nodes, 2-cpu Power3 ("Winterhawk") nodes and 8-cpu Power3 ("Nighthawk") nodes.
