Human Arterial Tree Project
The picture above is a geometric model of the ICA (Internal Carotid Artery) with an aneurysm which may burst and cause damage to the brain. This model was constructed from 3D CTA data from a real patient which was provided by Dr. Mahesh Jayaraman of Rhode Island Hospital. This model captures the curved surfaces of the blood vessels and bifurcation of the ICA into anterior communicating artery and anterior cerebral artery. We are collaborating with Dr. Jayaraman to investigate the relation of formation and treatment of aneurysm with blood flow.
