Abstract: Microwave propagation in plasma is investigated by a macroscopic formulation in the continuum regime. The Maxwell, Navier-Stokes, and generalized Ohm equations in the time domain are integrated on the common frame of reference. The closure of this differential equations system and the well-posed initial/boundary conditions will be delineated. A high-resolution, finite-volume numerical algorithm has been adopted for the initial efforts and preliminary results of potential applications will be presented.
